Naor began playing the clarinet as a 10-year-old boy at the Hassadna Conservatory in Jerusalem as part of the its program  for children of Ethiopian descent. Right from the beginning, Naor showed a real talent, a very musical boy with a lot of love and curiosity for music.  The clarinet immediately suited him and since then it became his special world. Throughout his childhood until today, Hassadna has been like a second home for Naor. Due to his family's underprivileged social situation, Naor was left to fend for himself financially and often emotionally from a young age. Today, Naor lives in Jerusalem with his mother and his younger sister Talia, who is just taking her first musical steps on the violin. Meanwhile, at 20 years, Naor is completing a bachelor's degree at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance with Professor Ilya Shwartz.

During his time at Hassadna, his great talent has led Naor to many meaningful and motivating musical experiences. Together with the Hassadna Wind Orchestra, Naor traveled to Vienna in 2016 for the "Summa Cum Laude" festival, where they won first prize. Naor has performed several times at Hassadna's annual fundraiser in London and has participated in festivals and master classes in Israel, the United States and France. In 2017, Naor played in the National Youth Wind Orchestra, and in 2018-2019 he was the first clarinet in the Young Israel Philharmonic Orchestra courses. A sample of his skills is offered in the following recording of Naor with his friend Yali Zaken: https://youtu.be/JhXsJ2euXcM.

Over the years, Naor has won several prizes in competitions. At the age of 18, he won 2nd prize in a solo competition hosted by the Music Department of the Ministry of Education, and 3rd prize in the Kfar Saba Wind Competition. In 2021, he won 1st prize in the Jerusalem Academy of Music concerto competition. Next year he will have the opportunity to perform as a soloist with the Academy's orchestra. Already one of the leading young clarinetists in Israel at the age of 20, Naor is in urgent need of a new professional quality A clarinet.

We have decided to finance it for him and thus accompany him on his way to becoming a great clarinetist.
