Our current project report as of February 2025

We maintain a scholarship programme and support educational institutions in five countries (Israel/Palestine, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Germany).

Scholarship Program for students from Palestine

Promoting education and training is a way to achieve greater peace in the world. Education gives people self-esteem and the ability to see the world from other people's perspectives. Those who have acquired special skills and knowledge through education can help others. Those who help others will also be helped themselves. Where else is this more important than in the crisis region of Israel/Palestine? Since our foundation was established, we have awarded scholarships primarily—but not exclusively—to Palestinian students from the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Our projects in Uganda

Uganda is one of the poorest countries in the world, located in East Africa. The average life expectancy of people living in Uganda is currently under 17 years. Millions of Ugandan children attend school, but by no means all of them. It is particularly important for young girls to go to school, as this helps them develop self-esteem and take control of their own future. In Uganda, our focus is on combating poverty through education. Less poverty also means more peace in the long term. In addition to school fee scholarships, we promote school development and work to improve the quality of school education in this country.

Training of young sozial workers from an for East-Jerusalem

Together with the Berthold Leibinger Foundation, we support a joint training project run by the Jerusalem Foundation, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and the Jerusalem City Council to train Palestinian social workers from and for East Jerusalem.

In cooperation with the Faculty of Humanities of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Mandel School we are funding currently eight young Palestinian students from Issavija.

We support Dr Gerhard Haag and his wife from Stuttgart-Degerloch in their admirable commitment to school education in Tanzania, especially at the Moravian Vocational Training Centre (MVTC) in Mbeya.
