Afnan (22 years old) lives with her mother and three siblings in meagre conditions on the grounds of the Greek Orthodox Elijah Monastery on the Hebron Road in the south of Jerusalem on the way to Bethlehem. She earns money with odd jobs and thus contributes to the family's livelihood. But she is actually studying sociology, anthropology and education at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her big goal is to be able to help other people as a social worker one day. We are helping her to achieve this goal with a scholarship. Afnan successfully completed her bachelor's degree at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem at the end of June 2023. We were lucky enough to briefly attend the exam ceremony at Mt.
